David Cross
David Cross gained notoriety aplenty with the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show with Bob and David, Christopher Guest mockumentary Waiting for Guffman, and for his role as hirsute beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There. But it was three seasons as Dr. Tobias Fünke in “Arrested Development” that undoubtedly made Cross a household name. Before the Fox TV series was canned in 2006, he tapped into comic gold with his portrayal of the fringe Bluth family member, a discredited psychiatrist, steadfast never-nude and “analrapist” — the wry portmanteau Tobias unwittingly concocted to describe his dual professions as an analyst and therapist. Cross strips down at the Tabernacle in support of his first book, I Drink for a Reason.
